What is BaZi Synastry?

BaZi Synastry is the classical Chinese method of comparing two natal charts to understand how their elements, stems, and branches interact. It reveals where partners reinforce each other, where friction lives, and which years of a relationship will test the bond.

Unlike a compatibility quiz, synastry considers the full five-element balance on both sides — so a strong-Fire person paired with a Water-lacking partner might fuel each other, or burn out, depending on season and Day Master polarity.

How to read a BaZi synastry report

Synastry is about interaction, not a score. Read the report in the order that classical masters use.

    A pair is strong when the two charts fill each other's deficiencies. A pair struggles when both charts are short of the same element.

What is a Synastry reading?
Synastry places two people's BaZi charts side by side and analyses the interactions of their stems and branches, five-element complementarity, and harmony/clash patterns, to assess compatibility, emotional dynamics and shared luck cycles. It works for romantic couples, marriages, business partners and family members alike.
How is Synastry different from Western zodiac compatibility?
Zodiac compatibility compares only the two sun signs. Synastry works from both people's full four-pillar charts (16 stems and branches in total) and layers in major-luck cycles, annual luck and minor stars — it is an order of magnitude more detailed and precise.
Do I need my partner's full birth information?
Yes — the year, month, day, hour and place of birth. If the partner is uncomfortable sharing the exact minute, hour-level precision is acceptable and the report will mark the confidence interval. Please do not run Synastry on other people's data without their consent.
Are Synastry results saved?
Only in your personal account history — the other person cannot see them automatically. Sharing requires you to actively send them the result link. All Synastry pages are noindex, so search engines do not pick them up.
Does Synastry work for same-sex relationships?
Yes. The core of Synastry is five-element interaction and stem/branch dynamics, which are gender-agnostic. The system supports any gender combination, and the narrative is written neutrally — it does not default to a heteronormative frame.
